In 2016, Esprit committed one million Euro over two years and has already opened YES Centers in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Vietnam. Esprit invests particularly in the countries where its garments are produced. The centers focus on young women at the age of 15 to 30 years. Women are often at the core of the family, taking care of the household, children and other family members. At the same time, they have the added responsibility of working and contributing to the finances of the family. In many families, girls are discouraged from having access to higher education. The efforts of the YES Center are thus aimed at empowering young women to find jobs and develop entrepreneurial skills. The funding of YES Centers was made possible by the Esprit Cares Trust, which was founded in 1993 with the objective of supporting charity-related activities. All projects funded through the Esprit Cares Trust are committed to charitable activities. The YES Center was initiated by Esprit and the YOU Foundation.
